Obviously if you want privacy, you should use Monero but, if you have to use Bitcoin, please do not re-use a Bitcoin address. Forward secrecy in this context means using a different address for each transactions that is made, that way if one address is tied to you, they will only see the one transaction on the blockchain. If your Bitcoin has a sketchy past, such as coming from a dark web market, centralized exchanges such as Coinbase, Blockchain or any other centralized exchange could refuse to allow the user to cash out, ban the account and even possibly seize the coins.
Having different addresses for different reasons can save you in the long run if the one address ever becomes compromised, only a limited amount of your cryptocurrency will be lost. Maybe even save the key different ways, so that if your password manger file gets corrupted or your pc becomes useless your cryptocurrency will be safe. The old proverb, “Do not put all your eggs in one basket” can be applied to securely keep your cryptocurrency from a “boating accident“.
If you have to use Bitcoin, another way to achieve anonymity is to convert the Bitcoin to Monero and then back to Bitcoin. This option can be expensive due to Bitcoin’s high fees. You have to careful and use a service that is honest or there is a chance that the Bitcoins you receive will be tainted. It would better to use Monero, but sometimes you might be forced to use Bitcoins. Monero has built in privacy where no one can see how much an address currently owns or the past history. Monero is a true fungible currency. One Monero equals exactly one Monero.
